About this role
About the role: - Work as a software trainee focused on network operations and infrastructure support - Support the Tier 1 Manager in the Network Operations Center (NOC) - Assist with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks - Help maintain and document network configurations and changes - Participate in incident response and resolution processes What you'll work on: - Diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues using tools like PING, TRACEROUTE, NSLOOKUP, and IPCONFIG - Monitoring network performance and identifying potential problems - Assisting with firewall rule configuration and Access List management - Supporting switch, router, and firewall operations - Troubleshooting VLAN, trunking, and link bonding configurations - Working with network protocols including TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, ICMP, TELNET, SSH, FTP, HTTP(s), IPSEC, and SSL - Learning routing and switching concepts including static and dynamic routing, Spanning Tree, RSTP, and MAC address tables What you'll need: - Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech/BCA) in Computer Science, Telecommunication, Electronics & Communication, Information Technology, or a related technical field - Solid knowledge of general computer systems including PCs, laptops, and mobile devices - Understanding of Windows, Mac OS, and Linux operating systems - Strong foundation in the OSI Model with advanced knowledge of layers 1-4 - Knowledge of routing protocols and concepts including Distance, Priority, routing tables, and Default Gateways - Knowledge of switching protocols including VLAN, Trunks, link bonding, Spanning Tree, RSTP, and ARP - Familiarity with subnetting and supernetting - Understanding of firewall rules, policies, and Access Lists - Practical experience with network troubleshooting methodologies - Deep understanding of technical concepts in networking, security, risk, and compliance Preferred qualifications: - 0-2 years of experience in networking - Background in helpdesk or technical support - Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or Wireshark What makes a strong fit: - Detail-oriented and methodical approach to problem-solving - Ability to work effectively within team environments - Willingness to learn and grow in network operations
