About this role
About the company: - Runable develops an AI agent that helps businesses complete everyday tasks across websites, mobile applications, desktop software and messaging platforms. Its technology can create websites, applications, documents and presentations, as well as execute complex workflows in secure environments. About the role: - Join a small engineering team developing the infrastructure, AI agent systems and customer-facing features behind Runable's platform. - Work directly on production software, taking responsibility for meaningful engineering tasks while learning from experienced developers. What you'll do: - Develop and release features for AI agents, backend services and the application's user-facing components. - Build systems involving AI model orchestration, tool integrations, workflow recovery and automated evaluations. - Investigate production bugs and improve system reliability, response times and infrastructure efficiency. - Write maintainable code, participate in technical discussions and review code with other engineers. - Measure how deployed features perform and use the results to guide improvements. - Apply AI coding agents where useful while checking that generated solutions meet engineering standards. What we're looking for: - Strong understanding of computer science concepts and software engineering fundamentals. - At least one significant achievement: a gold medal or comparable academic distinction, strong competitive programming results, or meaningful contributions to open-source software. - Experience building a software project, application, library or system that you can explain from its initial design through implementation. - Ability to approach unclear technical problems, identify practical solutions and turn ideas into functioning software. - Curiosity, independent problem-solving, effective communication and a willingness to take responsibility for your work. Good to have: - Familiarity with TypeScript, backend development, databases or distributed computing. - Experience with AI agents, model APIs, evaluation methods or sandboxed code execution. - Previous projects or contributions that have been used by people beyond academic assignments or programming competitions. Eligibility: - Intended for new graduates beginning their software engineering careers. No specific graduation batch or degree requirement is stated. Selection process: - First stage: a 15-minute introductory conversation with one of the company's founders. - Second stage: an in-office trial lasting one working day, where candidates solve a practical engineering problem alongside the team. Good to know: - This is a full-time internship requiring in-person attendance at the Bengaluru office. - Interns contribute directly to software running in production rather than participating only in observation or training activities. - The engineering team favours practical, dependable solutions and smaller, well-tested changes over unnecessary technical complexity. Note: Apply by emailing team@runable.com. Include your GitHub profile, competitive programming or open-source profile if relevant, and details of something you have built. Briefly explain which parts you personally developed and why the project matters. The company prefers a short, focused introduction rather than a lengthy resume.
