About this role
About the role: - RestroAI is seeking a software engineering intern to contribute to real-world backend and full-stack development projects over 3–6 months. - You'll work on building and improving backend systems alongside frontend components, taking ownership of features from design through deployment. - The internship offers hands-on experience with modern development practices in a startup environment focused on AI-powered restaurant technology. What you'll work on: - Developing server-side logic and APIs that power the RestroAI platform. - Building and maintaining REST APIs that connect frontend and backend systems. - Writing clean, maintainable code in JavaScript or TypeScript. - Working with version control systems to collaborate with the team. - Contributing to both backend infrastructure and React or Next.js frontend work as needed. What we're looking for: - Currently in your second or third year of a B.Tech program (or equivalent), with an expected graduation date of 2027 or 2028. - Solid understanding of JavaScript or TypeScript fundamentals. - At least one completed project using React or Next.js in your portfolio. - Demonstrated ability to work full-time during an internship semester or college break. - Strong interest in backend development and server-side architecture. - Hands-on experience with Git for version control. - Knowledge of how REST APIs work and how to build or consume them. - Genuine enthusiasm for learning, problem-solving, and shipping features that users will interact with. Good to know: - Experience with Docker or PostgreSQL is a plus. - Previous work on AI or LLM-powered projects strengthens your application. - Hackathon participation or open-source contributions are valued. - Prior internship or startup experience is helpful but not required. - Go programming language experience is not necessary; willingness to learn matters more.
