About this role
About the role: - You will design, build and maintain backend systems that serve production traffic at scale - Your work centers on creating reliable APIs using Node.js and TypeScript that handle real-world load and edge cases - You'll architect solutions that integrate third-party services while gracefully handling failures, timeouts and unavailability - You are expected to own features from conception through deployment and support What you'll work on: - Building and shipping production-grade APIs with Node.js and TypeScript - Working with MongoDB or equivalent databases and making sound decisions about data structure and denormalization - Designing systems that account for failure modes: third-party API latency, downtime and network issues - Creating integrations with external platforms such as CRMs, help desks and messaging services - Implementing event-driven architectures, message queues and webhook systems where needed What we're looking for: - Proven track record of shipping production APIs using Node.js and TypeScript - Strong grasp of database design with MongoDB or similar technologies, including when to denormalize data - Ability to think through failure scenarios and build resilient systems - Comfort working independently with strong written communication skills - Experience with queues, webhooks or event-driven patterns is a plus - Background building integrations with CRMs, help desks or messaging platforms is valuable but not required
