About this role
About the role: - Join Kulfi as a Software Engineer I on a full-time basis - Build features and systems that reach real users, taking ownership of the entire path from conception to shipped product - Work across the full stack: frontend interfaces, backend services, data storage, and deployment infrastructure - Debug production issues, iterate on performance, and improve reliability based on user feedback - Participate in code reviews and contribute to raising the quality bar for the codebase What you'll work on: - Developing mobile and web applications that prioritize usability and polish - Building or maintaining backend APIs and services that power user-facing features - Designing and executing database queries and schema improvements - Shipping code to production and learning from real-world outcomes - Mentoring teammates and sharing knowledge about technical decisions and trade-offs What we're looking for: - Proof of shipped work: a personal project, internship deliverable, freelance product, or substantial open-source contribution you can discuss in detail - Ability to write clean, understandable code and troubleshoot issues independently without over-relying on autocomplete or AI suggestions - Hands-on experience building across at least two architectural layers—such as mobile or web frontend, backend services, databases, or deployment pipelines - Genuine care for product quality and the user experience your code enables - Comfort moving fast, testing thoroughly, and owning mistakes when they happen - Willingness to articulate your contributions, explain why you made certain choices, and identify what you'd do differently next time - No Computer Science degree required; a portfolio of real work speaks louder than formal credentials Nice to have: - Familiarity with Flutter and Dart or other mobile development frameworks - Experience managing state using BLoC, Riverpod, or comparable patterns - Knowledge of REST API design, SQL, caching strategies, message queues, or real-time communication systems - Proficiency with Node.js, Go, Python, Java, or another established backend language - Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, application monitoring, or app store deployment workflows - Experience using Claude Code, Codex, or similar AI coding assistants thoughtfully as a tool rather than a crutch
