About the role: - Shape the technical direction and architecture for H2Loop as a founding engineer in a software-focused startup environment - Lead the embedded systems stack from hardware validation through firmware deployment - Coordinate across hardware, firmware, and AI teams to build integrated robotic or autonomous systems - Guide and mentor a small engineering team through product development phases - Own low-level debugging, performance profiling, and system analysis to ensure reliability at scale What you'll work on: - Embedded firmware development using C/C++, RTOS, and Embedded Linux in resource-constrained environments - Board bring-up, bootloader development, BSP work, and hardware validation for microcontroller and processor platforms - Driver development and hardware abstraction layers for production systems - Real-time systems engineering with focus on deterministic behavior and latency - Integration of edge AI pipelines with embedded firmware for on-device inference - Systems optimization across hardware, software, and AI components What we're looking for: - Minimum 1+ years of professional embedded firmware experience - Strong hands-on expertise with ARM-based MCU and MPU platforms from STMicroelectronics, NXP, or equivalent manufacturers - Proven background in UAV systems, robotics platforms, or real-time critical applications - Demonstrated ability to lead and grow small technical teams - Track record of cross-functional coordination between hardware engineers, firmware developers, and AI specialists - Comfort working at multiple abstraction levels from silicon to application code Good to know: - Full-stack robotics or UAV systems experience is a plus - Familiarity with ROS, PX4, or other robotics middleware accelerates ramp-up - Background in avionics, defence, or automotive firmware development valued - Experience with edge AI model evaluation and optimization preferred - Exposure to AI-assisted development tools or automation frameworks helpful - Prior founding or early-stage startup engineering experience highly valued
