About this role

About the role: - Build and ship functional code on a daily basis using modern AI coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor - Engage with real product challenges and understand how your work fits into broader business needs - Debug and troubleshoot issues by reading stack traces and understanding error patterns - Collaborate with a team on an established codebase using Git workflows - Review code you've written to ensure it solves the intended problem, not just responds to a prompt What you'll work on: - Develop backend systems and APIs that power AI-driven applications - Write asynchronous Python code to handle concurrent operations efficiently - Work with JSON data structures and build robust error handling - Write and maintain automated tests using pytest to ensure code quality - Implement structured outputs and tool-calling patterns for AI integrations - Possibly design and build evaluation frameworks that measure system performance What we're looking for: - Proficiency in Python, including async/await patterns, API design, and testing practices - Comfort reading and interpreting stack traces to solve problems independently - Experience with version control systems and working within shared codebases - Mindset focused on product outcomes rather than just completing assigned tasks - Ability to take ownership of small projects and execute them without constant guidance A plus: - Prior work on evaluation systems and explaining how scoring logic functions - Familiarity with structured outputs, function calling, or agentic AI frameworks - Track record of learning and executing standard operating procedures on your own How we'll work together: - Initial 30-minute conversation with the team to get to know each other - A small real-world task that mirrors the kind of work you'd do here - A hiring decision within one week of the final interview stage Note: Subject: Your Name | AI Intern.
