About the role: - You'll dive into production backend and frontend systems to read and comprehend large codebases across the stack. - You'll engage directly with active projects in operation, analyzing how they function and pulling apart their business logic, API behaviour, data schemas, and overall structure. - Problem-solving at scale is central to the work—you'll face real systems that demand creativity and rigorous thinking. What we're looking for: - Comfort reading unfamiliar code and following logic flows across different parts of a codebase. - Solid grasp of data structures and algorithms; you can reason about efficiency and correctness. - Ability to reverse-engineer systems by observing their behaviour and understanding their design choices. - Hands-on experience building or working on backend or frontend projects, or both. - Self-driven approach to learning—you'll encounter technologies and patterns you haven't seen before. - Curiosity about how systems fit together: databases, APIs, client layers, and business rules. What this involves: - Code review and exploration of existing systems rather than starting from a blank slate. - Reconstructing the intent behind architectural choices and API contracts. - Writing code that integrates with real infrastructure and serves actual use cases.
