About the role: - Work with the data science team on projects that use data analysis and machine learning to address practical challenges in the aerospace industry. - Gain experience handling complex datasets, developing predictive solutions and communicating results to engineering and business teams. What you'll do: - Gather information from different sources and prepare large datasets for analysis through cleaning and preprocessing. - Apply statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns and useful insights. - Develop predictive models that help address business and engineering problems. - Create data visualisations and explain analytical results to both technical specialists and other stakeholders. - Collaborate with data scientists and data engineers on ongoing research and development projects. - Explore emerging data science tools, techniques and methodologies to evaluate their usefulness for project requirements. - Maintain documentation describing analytical methods, project workflows and results. What we're looking for: - Understanding of statistics, machine learning concepts and foundational deep learning algorithms. - Programming ability in Python or R for data analysis and model development. - Familiarity with Pandas and NumPy for processing and analysing datasets. - Knowledge of machine learning libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch. - Basic SQL skills for retrieving and working with information stored in databases. - Strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving abilities and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and collaborate with other engineers and researchers. - Interest in aerospace technology and enthusiasm for learning new analytical techniques. Eligibility: - Students currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or another quantitative discipline. Good to know: - Full-time internship based in the Bengaluru area. - Expected duration is approximately six months. - The intended internship start date is January 2027. - The internship provides practical exposure to data science applications within aerospace engineering and technology projects.
